Hi All -

An amazing thing happened yesterday that can affect everyone along the Algonquin Pipeline route and those trying to gain oversight for decommissioning the Indian Point nuclear plant. The federal Office of the Inspector General (OIG) issued a Report that basically confirms what we've been saying all along about the so-called "risk assessment" allowing the Algonquin Pipeline to be installed next to the Indian Point plant. It really shows up the regulatory agencies and their rubber-stamp process!

NY State Assembly members Sandy Galef and David Buchwald have asked if we can can meet tonight at the Peekskill Library. I know most of the people in your organizations won't be able to be there - but I wanted everyone to be aware of it. We're also trying to get attention to it in the NY Times and on national internet news media.

Here's a link to the Report by the OIG:  (Accession number ML20056F095)

And this is a letter from the NRC Chairman trying to get any possible info to push back against the Report: (Accession # ML20057E265)

If you're in touch with anyone in this area, please let them know that the meeting will be from 9:00 to 10:00 pm at the Peekskill Library Community Room, 4 Nelson Avenue (corner of Main Street). The meeting room is on the main floor so it's straight ahead from the building entrance. There's plenty of parking in the garage directly across Nelson Avenue.

Will follow up more later and hope to see a good crowd there!

Regards,
Nancy

P.S. Sorry for any duplication
