I just spoke with Dr. Connett. He is thinking that in place of our conference call meeting tonight, we should all go to this zoom meeting. The Planning Board is called to a special meeting because they have to vote in order to change the zoning laws that the Mayor is trying to change.

On March 30th, Gov. Cuomo's DEC issued an Air State Facility Permit for Sungeel MCC Americas proposed Battery Incinerator in downtown Endicott, during a pandemic, and while everyone is home under curfew.
Bloody hell, what's the rush?
DEC assured us in the SEQRA "Negative Declaration", that there is "no identified creation of a hazard to human health", despite that at least 3 known carcinogens will be emitted.
DEC also told us, "The proposed action is consistent with local planning and zoning requirements. There is no identified creation of a material conflict with local land use plans", despite that a Hazardous Waste Incinerator is not a permitted land use in the Village according to local laws.
The applicant never approached the planning board, and never even obtained a building permit!
We were granted NO public hearing, and NO protections as an Environmental Justice Community.
The DEC has kept the community in the dark, and worked more as a project co-sponsor rather than a steward for the environment.
Ordinarily, there is a 30 day window to appeal with an Article 78 lawsuit, but all of the courts are closed to non-essential filings. So this facility will get constructed, and there is NO RIGHT TO REMEDY.
Nice going, Governor.

The DEC claimed in the Notice of Completed Application 10/19/2019 this was an Unlisted Action. This MUST BE a Type I action (not unlisted) by 6 NYCRR 617.4 §(2),§(3),§(7), and §(10)!
The DEC claimed 10/19/2019 that the Coordinated Review was complete. (the village just ordered it Monday 4/6.)
The DEC claimed in the Negative Declaration 10/19/2019,

My sources tell me the Ladies are advancing the incinerator,
while the men voted against the public hearing.
Here are the various terms of how the Applicant, the DEC, and the EPA classify this facility.
An incinerator is a PROHIBITED LAND USE under existing zoning!

The DEC LIED when they said there was "no material conflict with local zoning". (Negative Dec) This is because a Hazardous Waste Incinerator is not a permitted land use under Village of Endicott Zoning law.

The DEC LIED when they said this was an "unlisted SEQR action". (Notice of Completed Application Because this requires a Zoning Change, this MUST BE a Type-1 SEQR action, which requires public hearings AND a full Environmental Impact Statement!

Joseph Dlugolenski cannot claim ignorance, because I made him aware of these issues in my comments to DEC on the permit app.

PERSONALLY, I try to take in ALL sources, because nearly every source has some useful information. If you decide (for example) that FoxNews is an unreliable source, you will miss out on some important critical examination of the Democratic Party. Tucker Carlson is on Fox, and he gets many stories right (RussiaGate, Assange, Syria) and gives good interviews of people (Tulsi Gabbard) who are nearly banned from other outlets.
People are FREAKING OUT over this! Acting out with EXTREME ANGER and personal attacks!
It seems like people WANT to be afraid! It's like people want to be a part of something big. It's like they have strong attachment to the drama and story. If you give them any information to suggest that the story might be a Hoax, or at least overblown (perhaps for a political purpose, or a profit motive), people get very upset and abusive. (as if I were telling them how a movie ends).
If you threaten to take away a story by which someone defines themselves, then they respond in a way as if you were threatening their lives.

I have one FB friend who likes posting a bunch of speculative numbers, based on high R0 values (rate of transmission) or Case Fatality Rates sometimes exceeding 6%.
But if you ASK SOME BASIC QUESTIONS, like
"How is Case Fatality Rate Calculated?"
"How is a diagnosis of COVID-19 being determined?
By biological test (blood, urine, saliva, DNA test, antibodies, etc)?
Or guesswork based on a cluster of symptoms? (e.g., "Ground Glass Nodules")
... and then set up a spreadsheet, and play with the numbers, you can easily see that the alleged 30x increase in Case Fatality Rate of COVID-19 over ordinary flu, being only 1.3 orders of magnitude greater, is well within the margin of error.
For example, IT IS A FACT that the only people who are being tested ARE THOSE who are already expressing certain symptoms. THIS MEANS that people who have mild symptoms, or atypical symptoms ARE NOT BEING TESTED! And this means the COUNT OF INFECTED PERSONS could be 100x, 1,000x, or even 10,000x higher than what is being reported.
Now some might say, OH NO!!! IT'S SPREADING SO FAR AND WIDE!!!
But Steven Hatfill, a well known scientist and developer of bio-warfare agents for the US Military, says that 80-90% of all people will experience MILD SYMPTOMS!
So if the
Case Fatality Rate =

and the Number Infected goes WAY UP (since it's in the denominator), then the Case Fatality Rate goes way down proportionally.
So when people give me tables of numbers, projections about exponential growth, and how many people WILL BE DEAD by April, here is how I respond:
Yes, I can see you like to make up a bunch of speculative numbers. Everyone should have a hobby.
But
in fact you do not know the future. Anything can happen. This thing
surprised everyone when it arrived, it could surprise us when it leaves.
The thing to fear IMO is not the virus itself. The way this looks *by the numbers* (I'm a data dude) is very minor.
The
thing to fear is a) global freakout, b) hoarding, c) martial law during
a critical US election, d) the meltdown in the energy and capital
